Route of the Week - Beachy Head (3) 

A trip up and down Beachy Head is one of the routes that is occasionally used by our local Eastbourne Driving Test Centre examiners. Making good use of the gears and reading the road ahead, especially on the descent will hold you in good stead on this route! From time to time, the examiners can adopt some variation in the final parts of the route back to the test centre.

Please find below your basic turn-by-turn guide for the first of several routes used in this area.

Route Length - Approx 10 miles

Time - 30-40 minutes

• Start Point - Eastbourne Driving Test Centre - Wartling Road
• Turn right out of car park onto Wartling Road
• At the end of the road turn right
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit onto Lottbridge Drove
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit onto Seaside
• At the traffic lights turn right onto Whitley Road
• At the traffic lights follow the road ahead onto Whitley Road
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit left on to The Avenue
• At the roundabout take the 2nd exit right onto The Avenue
• At the traffic lights turn right onto Upperton Road
• Take the 1st road left onto The Goffs
• Follow the road ahead onto High Street/Church Street
• At the traffic lights follow the road ahead onto East Dean Road
• Take the 3rd road left onto Warren Hill
• Take the 2nd road right onto Upper Dukes Drive
• Follow the road ahead onto Dukes Drive
• Take the 2nd road left onto Chesterfield Road
• Take the 2nd road right onto Buxton Road
• At the end of the road turn left onto Staveley Road
• At the end of the road turn right onto St John's Road
• Take the 1st road left onto Granville Road
• At the end of the road turn right onto Silverdale Road
• Follow the road ahead onto Compton Street
• At the end of the road turn right onto Devonshire Place
• At the end of the road turn left onto Grand Parade
• Take the 3rd road left onto Terminus Road
• At the traffic lights turn right onto Seaside
• At the traffic lights follow the road ahead onto Seaside
• Take the 4th road right onto Marine Parade Road
• At the end of the road turn left onto Marine Parade
• Follow the road ahead onto Royal Parade
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit left and then the 1st road on the left onto Wartling Road
• Route completed
