Route of the Week - Upperton

A journey from one side of Eastbourne to the other, via the hills of Upperton is one of the routes that is occasionally used by our local Eastbourne Driving Test Centre examiners. Good anticipation and planning throughout this trip is a must and make sure you don't cut corners! From time to time, the examiners can adopt some variation in the final parts of the route back to the test centre.

Please find below your basic turn-by-turn guide for the first of several routes used in this area.

Route Length - Approx 10 miles

Time - 30-40 minutes

• Start Point - Eastbourne Driving Test Centre - Wartling Road
• Turn right out of car park onto Wartling Road
• At the end of the road turn right
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit onto Lottbridge Drove
• At the roundabout take the 3rd exit right onto St Anthony's Avenue
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit left onto Langney Rise
• Take the 1st road right onto Priory Road
• Take the 2nd road right onto Priory Road
• Take the 6th road left onto The Rising
• At the end of the road turn right onto Langney Rise
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit left onto B2104
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit left onto Willingdon Drove
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit following the road ahead onto Willingdon Drove
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit following the road ahead onto Willingdon Drove
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit left onto Highfield Link
• At the roundabout take the 2nd exit following the road ahead onto Cross Levels Way
• At the roundabout take the 2nd exit following the road ahead onto Cross Levels Way
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit following the road ahead onto Cross Levels Way
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit left onto Kings Drive
• Take the 3rd road right onto Prideaux Road
• At the end of the road turn left onto Carew Road
• Take the 3rd road right onto St Anne's Road
• Take the 7th road right onto Hartfield Road
• At the end of the road turn left onto Upperton Road
• At the traffic lights follow the road ahead Upperton Road
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit left onto Terminus Road
• Bear left onto Ashford Road
• At the traffic lights turn right onto Cavendish Place
• At the traffic lights follow the road ahead onto Cavendish Place
• At the traffic lights follow the road ahead onto Cavendish Place
• At the end of the road turn left onto Marine Parade
  
• Follow the road ahead onto Royal Parade
• Take the 3rd road left onto Beach Road
• Take the 1st road right onto Sidley Road
• At the end of the road turn right onto Channel View Road
• At the end of the road turn left onto Royal Parade
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit left and then the 1st road on the left onto Wartling Road
• Route completed
