Route of the Week - Beachy Head (2) 

Beachy Head (2) is one of the areas that is most used by our local Eastbourne Driving Test Centre examiners. There are various differing routes the examiners take and these can be further varied by taking both clockwise and anti-clockwise approaches.

Please find below your basic turn-by-turn guide for the first of several routes used in this area.

Route Length - Approx 10 miles

Time - 30-40 minutes

• Start Point – Eastbourne Driving Test Centre – Wartling Road
  
• Turn right out of car park on to Wartling Road
  
• At the end of the road turn right
  
• At the roundabout, take the 5th exit on the right onto Royal Parade (Seafront)
  
• Follow the road ahead onto Grand Parade (after Pier) then take the 1st road on the right onto Terminus Road
  
• At the traffic lights turn left onto Seaside Road
  
• At the roundabout take the 3rd exit following the road ahead onto South Street
  
• Keep left and then bear left onto Furness Road
  
• Take the 1st road on the left onto College Road
  
• Take the 1st road on the right onto Blackwater Road
  
• At the crossroads follow the road ahead continuing on Blackwater Road
  
• At the end of the road turn left onto Meads Road
  
• At the roundabout take the 2nd exit following the road ahead onto Meads Road
  
• At the roundabout take the 2nd exit following the road ahead onto Beachy Head Road
  
• Follow the road ahead onto Warren Hill
  
• At the end of the road turn right onto East Dean Road
  
• Take the 1st road on the right onto Pashley Road and then right at the end of the road onto Compton Drive
  
• At the end of the road turn left onto Summerdown Road
  
• At the traffic lights turn right onto Church Street
  
• Follow the road ahead onto High Street/The Goffs
  
• At the end of the road turn right onto Upperton Road
  
• At the traffic lights turn left onto The Avenue
  
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit left onto Upper Avenue
  
• At the roundabout take the 2nd exit right onto Whitley Road
  
• At the traffic lights follow the road ahead onto Whitley Road
• At the traffic lights turn left onto Seaside
• Take the 3rd road on the right onto Beach Road
  
• At the end of the road turn left onto Royal Parade
  
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit left and the 1st road on the left onto Wartling Road
  
• Route completed
