Route of the Week - Willingdon 

A nice drive out towards Willingdon is one of the routes that is occasionally used by our local Eastbourne Driving Test Centre examiners. You will require some excellent use of clutch control around this route as there are one or two tricky hill starts on the way! From time to time, the examiners can adopt some variation in the final parts of the route back to the test centre.

Please find below your basic turn-by-turn guide for the first of several routes used in this area.

Route Length - Approx 10 miles

Time - 30-40 minutes

• Start Point - Eastbourne Driving Test Centre - Wartling Road
• Turn right out of car park onto Wartling Road
• At the end of the road turn right
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit onto Lottbridge Drove
• At the roundabout take the 2nd exit following the road ahead onto Lottbridge Drove
• At the roundabout take the 2nd exit following the road ahead onto Lottbridge Drove
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit left onto Cross Levels Way
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit following the road ahead onto Cross Levels Way
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit onto Cross Levels Way
• At the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto Kings Drive
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit following the road ahead onto Kings Drive
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit following the road ahead onto Kings Drive
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit left onto Willingdon Road
• At the traffic lights turn right onto Victoria Drive
• At the traffic lights turn right onto East Dean Road
• Take the 2nd road left onto Pashley Road
• Take the 1st road right onto Compton Drive
• At the end of the road turn right onto Compton Drive
• At the end of the road turn right onto Summerdown Road
• Take the 1st road left onto Paradise Drive
• At the end on the road turn right onto Compton Place Road
• Take the 1st road left onto Dittons Road
• At the end of the road turn right onto Southfields Road
• At the roundabout take the 2nd exit left onto Terminus Road
• Bear left onto Ashford Road
• At the traffic lights turn right onto Cavendish Place
• At the traffic lights follow the road ahead onto Cavendish Place
• At the traffic lights follow the road ahead onto Cavendish Place
• At the end of the road turn left onto Marine Parade
• Follow the road ahead onto Royal Parade
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit left and then the 1st road on the left onto Wartling Road
• Route completed
