Route of the Week - Hampden Park 

A meander through Hampden Park is one of the routes that is occasionally used by our local Eastbourne Driving Test Centre examiners. Observations and timing when you emerge from junctions and roundabouts is the key to getting this route completed. From time to time, the examiners can adopt some variation in the final parts of the route back to the test centre.

Please find below your basic turn-by-turn guide for the first of several routes used in this area.

Route Length - Approx 10 miles

Time - 30-40 minutes

• Start Point - Eastbourne Driving Test Centre - Wartling Road
• Turn right out of car park onto Wartling Road
• At the end of the road turn right
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit onto Lottbridge Drove
• At the roundabout take the 2nd exit following the road ahead onto Lottbridge Drove
• At the roundabout take the 2nd exit following the road ahead onto Lottbridge Drove
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit left onto Cross Levels Way
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit following the road ahead onto Cross Levels Way
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit onto Cross Levels Way
• At the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto Kings Drive
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit following the road ahead onto Kings Drive
• At the roundabout take the 2nd exit right onto Decoy Drive
• Take the 1st road left onto Willingdon Park Drive
• Take the 1st road right onto Lindfield Road
• Take the 4th road right onto Parkfield Avenue
• Take the 1st road left onto Pulborough Avenue
• At the end of the road turn left onto Brodrick Road
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit following the road ahead onto Brodrick Road
• At the roundabout take the 2nd exit following the road ahead onto Brodrick Road
• Bear left onto Willingdon Park Drive
• Take the 1st road right onto Friston Avenue
• Take the 2nd road right onto Amberley Road
• At the end of the road turn left onto Willingdon Road
• At the roundabout take the 2nd exit following the road ahead onto Willingdon Road
• At the traffic lights follow the road ahead onto Willingdon Road
• Take the 1st road left onto Beverington Road
• At the end of the road turn left onto Rodmill Drive
• At the roundabout take the 4th exit right onto Kings Drive
• Follow the road ahead onto Lewes Road
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit following the road ahead onto Whitley Road
• At the traffic lights follow the road ahead onto Whitley Road
• At the traffic lights follow the road ahead onto Whitley Road
• At the traffic lights turn left onto Seaside
  
• Take the 3rd road right onto Beach Road
• At the end of the road turn left onto Royal Parade
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit left and then the 1st road on the left onto Wartling Road
• Route completed
