Route of the Week - Meads 

The Meads route is one of the most challenging and technical in the area and is frequently used by our local Eastbourne Driving Test Centre examiners. You will encounter many hazards on the drive and observation and planning is essential. The examiners are known to vary parts of the drive in both town and in the Meads area.

Please find below your basic turn-by-turn guide for the first of several routes used in this area.

Route Length - Approx 9 miles

Time - 30-40 minutes

• Start Point - Eastbourne Driving Test Centre - Wartling Road
• Turn right out of car park onto Wartling Road
• At the end of the road turn right
• At the roundabout take the 5th exit right onto Royal Parade
• Follow the road ahead onto Marine Parade
• Follow the road ahead onto Grand Parade
• Take the 1st turn on the right onto Terminus Road
• At the traffic lights turn left onto Seaside Road
• Follow the road ahead onto Trinity Trees
• At the roundabout take the 3rd exit and follow the road ahead onto South Street
• Bear left onto Furness Road
• At the end of the road turn left onto Grange Road
• Take the first turn right onto Blackwater Road
• At the end of the road turn left onto Meads Road
• Take the 2nd turn on the left into Silverdale Road
• Take the 1st turn on the right onto Fairfield Road
• At the end of the road follow the road ahead onto Staveley Road
• Take the 1st turn on the right onto Buxton Road
• At the end of the road turn right onto Chesterfield Road
• At the end of the road turn left onto Milnthorpe Road
• At the end of the road turn rights onto Darley Road
• At the end of the road follow the road ahead onto Darley Road
• At the end of the road follow the road ahead onto Carlisle Road
• Take the 4th turn on the left onto Link Road
• At the end of the road turn left onto Paradise Drive
• Bear left onto Summerdown Road
• At the lights turn right onto Church Street
• Follow the road ahead onto High Street/The Goffs
• At the end of the road turn right onto Upperton Road
• At the traffic lights follow the road ahead onto Upperton Road
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit left onto Terminus Road
• Bear left onto Ashford Road
• At the traffic lights follow the road ahead onto Ashford Road/Cavendish Avenue
• Bear left onto Firle Road
• At the traffic lights turn right onto Whitley Road
• At the traffic lights turn left onto Seaside
• Take the 7th turn on the right onto Channel View Road
• At the end of the road turn left onto Royal Parade
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit left and then take the 1st turn on the left onto Wartling Road
• Route completed
