Route of the Week - Hailsham 

A trip to Hailsham is one of the routes that is now being used by our local Eastbourne Driving Test Centre examiners. This route is all about making good progress and keeping an eye out for changing speed limits. From time to time, the examiners can adopt some variation in the final part of the route back to the test centre.

Please find below your basic turn-by-turn guide for the first of several routes used in this area.

Route Length - Approx 15 miles

Time - 30-40 minutes

• Start Point - Eastbourne Driving Test Centre - Wartling Road
• Turn right out of car park onto Wartling Road
• At the end of the road turn right
• At the roundabout take the 2nd exit left onto Princes Road
• At the roundabout take the 2nd exit following the road ahead onto Langney Rise
• Take the 1st road on the right onto Priory Road
• Take the 2nd road on the right onto Priory Road
• At the roundabout take the 2nd exit following the road ahead onto Pennine Way
• At the end of the road turn right onto Friday Street
• At the traffic lights follow the road ahead onto Hailsham Road
• Follow the road ahead onto Ersham Road
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit left onto South Road
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit left onto A22 Polegate Road towards Eastbourne
• At the roundabout take the slip road left onto A27 Polegate Bypass towards Eastbourne
• At the roundabout take the 2nd exit right towards Eastbourne
• At the roundabout take the 2nd exit following the road ahead onto Golden Jubilee Way
• At the roundabout take the 3rd exit right onto Willingdon Drove
• At the roundabout take the 2nd exit following the road ahead onto Willingdon Drove
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit left onto Lottbridge Drove
• At the roundabout take the 2nd exit following the road ahead onto Lottbridge Drove
• At the roundabout take the 2nd exit following the road ahead onto Lottbridge Drove
• At the roundabout take the 2nd exit following the road ahead onto Lottbridge Drove
• At the roundabout take the 5th exit right and then the 1st road on the left onto Wartling Road
