New Learner Driver

First time behind the wheel? Nervous or anxious beginner? Finding it difficult to progress with your current instructor?

As with all our tuition programs, here at Routine Driving School we know that every pupil is an individual and will require their own unique package of training. From your very first lesson, our instructors will guide you through everything you need to know to develop your driving ability, obtain your full licence and importantly, feeling confident and safe on the road. 

Our comprehensive training program covers all aspects of the DVSA 'Learning to Drive' syllabus that will build up your driving skills right through to your practical driving test. Starting with the basics, your instructor will develop your skills in a fun, easy to understand and methodical manner and most importantly at a pace that works for you. Your one to one tuition, will be focused on your best learning route and specific needs and developed in line with your progress, to reach the desired goals. We strive to ensure lesson time is not wasted and that your learning experience with us is progressive and cost effective.

As well as teaching you how to drive, your instructor will also help you prepare for your theory test (you are required to pass this before you can arrange a practical driving test), ensure you have a good understanding of basic vehicle safety checks and of course, fully prepare you for your practical driving test including a full mock test rehearsal.

Qualified Driver Refresher

Have you had a long break from driving? Had an accident or moment in your vehicle? Finding the pace on the roads difficult to judge? Then perhaps a refresher session with one of our experienced instructors is just the help you need! 

We can assist you with all aspects of your driving and are happy to tailor one or more sessions to your specific requirements. Sometimes just some re-assurance from someone else can be enough to get an anxious driver's confidence back. Often, drivers who have let their day to day skills lapse, can get back on track with just some simply guidance and tips and return to enjoying the experience of driving safely.

Mock Test/Assessment Drive

Want to know if your driving skills are up to scratch? Feeling unprepared for your driving test? Applying for or starting a new role requiring driving? Measure up with a mock test/assessment!

Our instructors can put you through your paces with either a full mock practical driving test or a tailored assessment drive. Incorporating all aspects of the DVSA testing protocols, your instructor will assess all elements of your driving ability, across over 25 measures. Our extensive local knowledge, will ensure your test/assessment route incorporates all the aspects of modern driving (except motorway driving. See below for more information on how we can assist in this area) and is similar to those used by DVSA examiners.

At the end of your mock test/assessment drive, your instructor will provide full feedback on your drive including explanations and recommendations on how to fix any concerning or recurring issues.

Parking Refresher

Is your car getting bumped and scratched? Fed up scuffing your alloys? Struggling to park in car parks? Let us help give you the skills to park with confidence!

It was probably a lot easier when we were younger or in that smaller car but parking can be a real tester for many drivers! A quick parking refresh session with one of our instructors can help you sort out any issues. Using simple, easy to remember techniques, your instructor can help you with all types of parking including reversing in and out of bays/garages, parallel parking and parking against the flow of traffic.
