Guide - Pevensey Bay

Route of the Week - Pevensey Bay 



Pevensey Bay is one of the areas that is used frequently by our local Eastbourne Driving Test Centre examiners. Typically this route can be used both in a clockwise and anti-clockwise direction. From time to time, the examiners can adopt some variation in the Langney part of the route.

Please find below your basic turn-by-turn guide for the first of several routes used in this area.

Route Length - Approx 10 miles
Time - 30-40 minutes

Please do NOT park in the Eastbourne Driving Test Centre during their normal operating hours of between 8:00 - 16:30, Monday to Friday, to ensure that you do not impede a candidate on their real driving test.

  • Start Point - Eastbourne Driving Test Centre - Wartling Road
  • Turn right out of car park onto Wartling Road
  • At the end of the road turn right
  • At the roundabout take the 2nd exit left onto Princes Road
  • At the roundabout take the 3rd exit right onto A259
  • At the roundabout take the 1st exit following the road ahead onto A259
  • At the traffic lights turn left onto Wallsend Road
  • At the traffic lights turn left onto High Street
  • Follow the road ahead onto Castle Road/High Street
  • At the roundabout take the 2nd exit and follow the road ahead onto Rattle Road
  • At the traffic lights turn left onto Lion Hill
  • Follow the road ahead onto Friday Street
  • Take the 3rd turn on the left onto Pennine Way
  • Take the 1st road on the right onto Mendip Avenue
  • At the end of the road turn right onto Pennine Way
  • At the roundabout take the 2nd exit and follow the road ahead onto Priory Road
  • At the end of the road turn left onto Priory Road
  • At the end of the road turn left onto Langley Rise
  • At the roundabout take the 2nd exit and follow the road ahead onto Princes Road
  • At the roundabout take the 4th exit right and then the 1st road on the left onto Wartling Road
  • Route completed
