Route of the Week - Stone Cross 

A trip up the dual carriageway to Stone Cross is one of the routes that is now being used by our local Eastbourne Driving Test Centre examiners. Timing the switching of lanes is the challenge on this route. From time to time, the examiners can adopt some variation in the early and final parts of the route back to the test centre.

Please find below your basic turn-by-turn guide for the first of several routes used in this area.

Route Length - Approx 10 miles

Time - 30-40 minutes

• Start Point - Eastbourne Driving Test Centre - Wartling Road
• Turn right out of car park onto Wartling Road
• At the end of the road turn right
• At the roundabout take the 5th exit onto Royal Parade
• Take the 6th road on the right onto Beamsley Road
• At the traffic lights turn right onto Seaside
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit left onto Lottbridge Drove
• At the roundabout take the 2nd exit following the road ahead onto Lottbridge Drove
• At the roundabout take the 2nd exit following the road ahead onto Lottbridge Drove
• At the roundabout take the 3rd exit right onto Willingdon Drove
• At the roundabout take the 2nd exit following the road ahead onto Willingdon Drove
• At the roundabout take the 1st exit left onto Golden Jubilee Way
• At the roundabout take the 3rd exit right onto Dittons Road
• At the roundabout take the 2nd exit following the road ahead onto Dittons Road
• At the traffic lights turn right onto Lion Hill
• Follow the road ahead onto Friday Street
• Take the 3rd road on the left onto Pennine Way
• At the roundabout take the 2nd exit following the road ahead onto Priory Road
• At the end of the road turn left onto Priory Road
• At the end of the road turn left onto Langney Rise
• At the roundabout take the 2nd exit following the road ahead onto Princes Road
• Take the 1st road on the left onto Ramsay Way
• At the end of the road turn right onto Prince William Parade
• At the roundabout take the 3rd exit following the road ahead and then the 1st road on the left onto Wartling Road
• Route completed
